MLB 26 Beginner Guide: Get Started
Beginner Guide
Everything you need to know to get started with MLB RIVALS — from basic controls to building your first competitive roster.
Getting Started
Download MLB RIVALS from the official app store. Create an account and complete the interactive tutorial — you will earn a starter card pack while learning the core mechanics. Early on, focus on pitching achievements for better rewards, as hitting home runs with low-OVR players is difficult.
Controls & Gameplay
Batting: Click the Swing button at the right time. Timing and button position affect hit strength and direction. Pitching: Select pitch type (Sinker, Cutter, Slider, Four-Seam) and drag to aim in the strike zone. Fielding: Swipe quickly to control fielder movement. You can also enable Catcher's Lead to let the AI suggest the best pitches.
Roster Building
Use the Lineup Management screen to view detailed player stats, OVR, and deck scores. Use automatic lineup setup based on preferred team or highest stats. Build a Diamond S set deck for maximum team bonuses. Focus on assembling players from your preferred team to unlock special deck scores. Upgrade your best cards using lower-tier duplicates.
Advanced Tips
Manual vs Auto: Manual is ideal for scoring runs and clutch moments. Auto is suitable for grinding League Mode to accumulate rewards. Hybrid play is recommended — manual for key moments, auto for the rest. Manage stamina: Only use condition drinks on starting pitchers in rotation.
